Nestled in the Belleview Station district of Denver, Le French delivers a sophisticated blend of Parisian elegance and Senegalese warmth, redefining what it means to experience French cuisine in the Mile High City. Founded by Senegalese-French sisters Aminata and Rougui Dia, this chic eatery offers more than a meal—it crafts a cultural journey infused with heritage, hospitality, and haute cuisine.

The atmosphere at Le French is effortlessly stylish. With its soft lighting, sleek brass fixtures, and artfully arranged seating, the restaurant whispers modern Paris while humming with Denver’s urban energy. It’s the kind of place where a midday espresso feels just as natural as a celebratory dinner with champagne. Whether you’re seated near the sun-drenched windows or tucked into a plush banquette, the ambiance invites you to linger. Le French’s menu is a carefully composed symphony of French classics and West African influences. Breakfast and brunch are particularly beloved, drawing crowds for dishes like their decadent croque madame and the rich, buttery quiche Lorraine. But it’s their weekend brunch menu, complete with pillowy beignets and the best pain au chocolat in town, that has locals buzzing and travelers extending their stay.

One standout is their Poulet Yassa, a Senegalese dish reimagined with the precision of a Paris-trained chef. The caramelized onion marinade, vibrant with lemon and mustard, clings to tender chicken that melts on the tongue. Served with perfectly crisp pommes frites, it’s an unforgettable marriage of bold African flavor and refined French technique. Seafood lovers are drawn to the Moules Marinières, bathed in a white wine, garlic, and herb broth that begs to be soaked up with freshly baked baguette. Meanwhile, the steak frites, served with a green peppercorn sauce, delivers a textbook example of French bistro perfection. Every dish is plated with the kind of finesse that underscores Rougui Dia’s experience as one of Paris’ most celebrated female chefs.

The dessert menu deserves its own standing ovation. From the glossy, rich chocolate ganache tart to the airy crème brûlée, the pastry selections are both comforting and polished. But it’s their tarte Tatin, served warm with a dollop of Chantilly cream, that steals the show—a sweet, caramelized ode to tradition. Le French also excels with its curated wine list and hand-crafted cocktails. Their French 75 sparkles with botanical gin and citrus, while the house-made sangria adds a fruit-forward twist to your evening. The staff is well-versed in pairings and happy to guide guests through the selections, ensuring every sip complements every bite.

What truly elevates Le French, however, is its hospitality. The service is as gracious as it is knowledgeable—each visit feels like being welcomed into the Dia sisters’ home. There’s a familial warmth that makes this upscale destination accessible and inviting, where every guest is treated like a regular, and every meal feels celebratory.

During my most recent experience, my group and I feel in love with the dining room the moment we walked in. We were treated like royalty. My entire family and I enjoyed dinner to celebrate my step-daughter's birthday and a handful of our family traveled all the way from Santa Fe, NM to try this highly recommended cuisine. The management spared no opportunity to carter to us and make us feel special. Everything was delicious from the escargot, to the scallops, to the mouthwatering scallops and drinks. My sister-in-law said - 'When I return to Denver, I cannot wait to come back!"

In a city that continues to evolve its culinary identity, Le French stands out not only for its elevated cuisine and flawless execution but also for the story it tells. It is a tribute to roots, to reinvention, and to the power of blending cultures with intention and grace. For those craving a taste of Paris with a twist of West Africa, there is simply no better place in Denver.
